Wow, you guys, seriously! I just had the BEST pasta of my entire life. And I've had pasta in Italy - this place totally blew it out of the water! The pasta itself was amazing, but the service was also super friendly and welcoming. If you're a pasta lover (and who isn't?!), you absolutely HAVE to check this place out. You won't regret it!
Best Italian restaurant in the western suburbs! The atmosphere, service, food, and drinks were all amazing! I cannot speak highly enough of Villa Verone! Would highly recommend!
Villa Verone might just be the most welcoming Italian restaurant I've ever visited. From the moment you arrive, the staff greets you with warmth and genuine hospitality, ensuring you feel taken care of throughout your meal. I indulged in the Tiramisu martini, which was amazing and just to my liking, and the fettuccine Alfredo, an irresistible classic. The atmosphere is vibrant, especially on the outdoor patio during the summer, where it truly feels like a family gathering, filled with smiles and lively conversations. I can't wait to return and explore more of the enticing drinks and dishes on the menu. Everything looks and sounds delicious.
Their food is phenomenal but where they truly shine is their aesthetic and hospitality. 10/10 do not miss
Service was impeccable! We were ushered right up and to our table, where our dining guests had already been seated moments before. Menus appeared quickly, water glasses filled, and the server was upon us to see about drinks. He was courteous, informative and timed his comings and goings very well. Drinks came quickly, as did the appetizers and main courses. He checked in our progress but was unobtrusive and sensitive to our conversation. Best service we've had for a while! Food was solid. We began with calamari (breaded and fried), which was crispy and succulent--not oily or limp like some other places. We also sampled a special burrata that was graced with balsamic vinegar, adorned with arugula and delicious thin slices of prosciutto. My main course was the a seafood combination of salmon, scallops and shrimp, with a garlic sauce. The shrimp was perfectly cooked--pink, fresh, and delicious. Not over-cooked at all, which is a big flaw when serving shrimp. The scallops were also done to a turn. A slight char on the outside, but moist and succulent on the inside, just as they should be. The salmon was a four ounce filet, also expertly cooked. It almost melted at the touch of my fork and was delicately seasoned by the garlic and butter. What I admired about the dish was that each element really had to be cooked separately, as they each require a different treatment and timing. A less careful kitchen might have not been as attentive to the details. My companions seemed to enjoy their meals as well. We had a lovely Chianti with dinner, and were too full for dessert, but they also sounded amazing. (They make their own tiramisu--which is a personal favorite. So, I'll have to return for that!) The ambiance was charming--it's an oldish house converted into a restaurant. There's ample outdoor dining (but it was a bit too cool temperature-wise for us to sit outside). There are several floors and dining areas on each floor. The seating is comfortable, and the table was a good size for four. My only slight issue (thus four, not five stars) was that it was a bit tight and a bit loud. I think they could lose one table at each dining area and that would make it a bit more pleasant and open. But, the restaurant biz is run on a very tight margin, so I can't really blame them for maximizing the capacity. This was my second time at Villa Verone and I shall definitely return!
Wow! Our first time here and everyone in the family loved their meal. The environment is quaint, the service was great and the food is outstanding. We started with an appetizer special of some type of mozzarella ball with prosciutto which was excellent. I had lobster ravioli in a tomato cream sauce which was better than excellent. The sauce was perfect, not too heavy! Around the table my family had the vodka pasta and another pasta with the tomatoes cream sauce. To finish it off we had a piece of the tirmasu. Honestly, the best tirmasu I've ever had. I'm not a huge but this tirmasu was delectable. Overall, best Italian meal I've had in a loooong time!! Bravo!!
Firstly, I suggest getting reservations before trying to eat here. This place is a favorite among locals, and I totally understand why. Our party of 5 came here for a lovely dinner on New Years Eve night. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly in a cosy corner of the downstairs area. The old home really adds charm to the place and I loved watching the waiters and waitresses expertly balance trays of food and drink while climbing up and down the old wood stairs to the second level. Their bread service was great and the olive oil actually had flavor (something I am not used to when dining in America). It came out warm and helped hold us over until our meals came out. I personally ordered the Rotolo Mamma Carmela, which is fresh pasta rolled with ricotta, spinach, and prosciutto and served with a tomato cream sauce. It was to die for! The ricotta was so creamy and you could definitely tell that the pasta was fresh. It was a great dish that did not leave me overly stuffed (which I how I feel when leaving most Italian restaurants). Everyone else at my table also greatly enjoyed their meals and no one had leftovers to take home. If you have the chance, book a dinner at this magical place! It is well worth the effort.
Recently went here to celebrate my husbands birthday and was blown away by the rustic charm, excellent service and amazing food from Villa Verone. Absolutely exceptional! We split a Caesar salad (dynamite salad!!), enjoyed the prosciutto and burrata special appetizer, I ordered pappardelle bolognese, and my husband had the dish with shrimp, chicken and mushrooms. For his birthday they brought out tiramisu and sang (so lovely!) and we also ordered the cannolis. I also had a pomegranate martini! Highly recommend this rustic gem!!
Villa Verone is an iconic and classic Italian restaurant in Geneva, Illinois, from walking through the enchanting patio garden to the historic stone building where the magic happens of fine Italian dining. The staff is amicable and professional, and the service is excellent. The Italian cuisine is bountiful and tastes impressive, making it challenging to decide. The homemade tiramisu is out of this world. There's also a great hidden gem, the upstairs martini bar, with live music and dancing on Fridays and Saturdays. The owner Pietro Verone will be there to greet you and, at times may perform a classic rat pack tune. Come hungry but leave happy and full!
